Exclude trees from heat stress overlay
Is it possible to exclude standard deciduous trees that are currently present from the heat stress overlay?
The case is as follows: In the current situation, I calculate the perceived temperature using a foliage area grid. This grid is a combination of an export from GIS and the foliage grid result from another heat stress overlay. This way, I can include trees that I add in a future design in the heat stress calculation. However, in the current situation, I want to (indicatively) place trees in the model for visual and other computational purposes, but they should not be included in the foliage map from the heat stress overlay. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Kind regards,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,
The case of wanting to ignore trees in the current situation but include the ones which are placed in the future situation sounds similar to the situation of using static data for the initial situation, but plan-based dynamic results for the future situation. Please see if the instructions from the following forum post may be applicable for you:
Future plan in Combo Overlay
https://community.tygron.com/forum/discussion/600/future-plan-in-combo-overlayExpanded from that, the excel offered in that post adds a specific attribute to all constructions placed as part of a future design, but this can be limited by editing the query with a -and-category-is-nature clause, or even a -and-function-is-440 clause. The average overlay, highlighting that attribute, can be set to a reasonable distance of, for example, 5 meters. So that when a tree is built, the static original grid in a radius of 5 meters is replaced by the foliage of the new tree and its environs.
