Selecting Buildings
Dear Tygron,
I would like to inform whether / how it is possible to select buildings with a specific function all at once. I discovered there is the highlight function, but this unfortunately doesn't allow calculations.
For instance, is it possible to select all houses / schools / parks all at once in order to use it as input for the travel distance overlay (rather than adding empty areas)?
Thank you for looking at my question.
Kind regards,
Evy

Hello @evy@urbansync.nl ,
The function highlights overlay is not a grid overlay that can be used as a base for further calculations. To create a grid overlay that points to selected functions, you may want to look at an Average Overlay, where you assign a specific attribute to the functions you want to use, and use an average overlay with a specified radius to use as base for your distance calculations.

Hi @vincent.rd !
Thank you for looking at my question. This is a good way to create a grid overlay that points to my selected functions.
I aim to use the Travel Distance Overlay which requires a destination area. This is (as far as I understand) linked to areas. Therefore, I am wondering if the only option to use the Travel Distance Overlay is to import my data as separate areas? Or how can I use my average overlay which points to my selected functions as input to calculate the travel distance from these points?
Hope you can help me further. Thank you for looking at my follow-up question in advance.
Regards,
Evy
