Custom tree file import

Dear community,

For a municipality we need to define the shade percentage. The municipality has provided us with a detailed tree database with different types and heights of trees. We're able to upload this file through the blueprint option -JSON upload when drawing the area.

Only problem is, the tygron model already contains a lot of trees by default. Can anyone help us to delete all trees at once from the model? Or (alternative): create a model without trees?

Keen to hear ideas/suggestions.

Kind regards,

Glenn Morvan

  • Hi @Glenn Morvan,

Thank you for posting this question.

In the editor, if you navigate to the Current Situation tab, under Buildings, there is an option called 'Select Multiple Buildings':

When you select this, more options become available on the bottom panel:

You can now select all instances of a specified function and remove them (or change the function to something else by default).

    1. Select 'Specific Function'.
    2. Use 'Edit' to select 'Standaard Loofbomen'.
    3. Select 'Remove' from the 'Action' drop down menu.
    4. Click 'Select Entire Map'.
    5. Confirm the message.

Please note that the action is destructive and cannot be undone, unless the project is not saved after this action. You may have to repeat this action for other functions you want to remove too, like individual trees and other generic tree clusters ('Standaard Naaldbomen', etc.). Also trees that are part of any other function, like 'Gardens' can not be removed like this as they are not actual functions, but act as furniture as part of other functions.

I hope this answers your question. Please let us know if this works for you.

    Regards, Vincent
