How to import future situation design of Tygron into ArcGIS

Hello,

We have two scenarios that we created in the future situation. It would be a big hassle to implement this in the current situation since we used the measure function to select certain buildings and streets in specific locations. This function is lost in the current situation, right?

So we were wondering whether it is possible to export your future situation into a GIS map? And which steps do you need to take for this?

Kind regards,

Sofie

  • Hi @Sofie,

Yes, when creating a measure and carrying it out, the measure will only be build in Future design. However, you can export the measure by hovering over the Measure button and then choosing for Export Geo Data (make sure a test run is not started). In the panel that pops up, you can choose to export all measures or select one from the drop down list. When you click on Export file, a GeoJSON file will be exported.

You can directly import this GeoJSON file into the Platform to alter the Current situation. By using the Geo Data Wizard from the Current situation tab and then choosing for type Buildings.

You can also import this file in ArcGIS, but then you will probably need to have the Data Interoperability Extension to read GeoJSON files. Another option is to click in the Export Measure panel on Copy URL to copy the WFS URL and use that in ArcGIS. See for more information:

  • Hi @Godelief,

I work together on this with @Sofie . We tried this and it worked perfectly on the measures that were classified as 'building' but many of our measures were upgrades. This outputs with 0 items.

We made a measure that would upgrade all the flat roofs in an area to blue or green roofs. Since it would be a big hassle to select every roof by hand we selected the entire area, since it would only recognize the flat roof anyways because of the pairings we made. So the measure does not have predefined sections like 'buildings', but produces a list after implementation.

Is there any way you can export this info to an GIS? Or do you have any other tips?

    Kind regards,

    Marsha

  • Hi @Marsha ,

The upgrades in a measure are indeed not exported when the test run is not started. What you can do is:

    1. Copy the WFS URL of the measure as mentioned in my previous post
    2. Then carry out the measure
    3. Add the WFS to a GIS and then you will see that also the upgraded buildings are in the layer
    4. You can now export the data to another format in the GIS

If the goal is to use the file to change the Current situation, you could also look at the Select multiple buildings option (by hovering over the Buildings button in the Current situation tab). Here you can change the function of multiple buildings at once to another function (for example a function with a green roof).
