How to add a Tygron Platform WFS in ArcGIS

edited March 2020 in Data

Last week we demonstrated on our Preview meetings how to add data from a Tygron Platform WFS in QGIS.

Below a short tutorial on how to add a Tygron Platform WFS in ArcGIS. For this tutorial I used ArcMap 10.4.1 and the Data Operability extension. Data that can be added to a GIS via WFS is Vecor data (for example the Tygron Platform Buildings, Neighborhoods, Areas etc.).

In this tutorial we are going to add market housing buildings from a project in Delft to ArcGIS.

  1. Copy the WFS URL from the Tygron Platform Preview by hovering over the Buildings button and clicking on Export Geo Data. In the panel that pops up, click on Copy URL. If desired, check the checkbox for Inherit all parent attributes and then copy the URL if you would like to export the data with attributes.
  2. In ArcMap, add a new WFS Interoperability connection.
  3. Choose as format WFS, as dataset the whole copied URL (including token) and click on the Parameters button.
  4. In the parameters panel, choose a layer in the WFS by clicking on the Feature types button and checking one or more layers. In this case we check the Buildings-normal layer.
  5. In the parameters panel, click on the OK button at the bottom of the panel.
  6. Drag the layer to your map and you will see the market housing buildings of a part of Delft!
